Alethea Jones L.Ac MaOM has spent 20+ years working directly with yoga, meditation, herbal medicine (both eastern and western), awareness and mindfulness practices, nutrition and lifestyle choices. The culmination of her training and personal experiences bring to you an approach cultivated with a focus on personal empowerment in one’s healing.

Clinically, Alethea started within a community acupuncture setting seeing on average 7-8 patients an hour for the first 3 years of her practice; providing over 3,000 clinical treatments in that time. Since, Alethea has strived to build her understanding of Private Practice and works in greater depth with those seeking her assisence.

Alethea attained a License in Acupuncture in 2015 after graduating from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine, in Austin TX. Here; under the oversight of Doctors, Surgeons, Naturopaths, Acupuncturists’s, and Energetic Workers, she recieved training on how Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine are best integrated into today’s Modern Western Medical approach.

Since the age of 23 she has deferred to acupuncture and natural medicine practices as her primary care. While in her Master’s Program for Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine, Alethea recieved training in Qi-Gong exercise and Energetic healing practices including Reiki and Medical Qi-Gong. Alethea is Master Reiki Certified thru the Usui lineage.

At the age of 16 Alethea began researching and treating her own ailments with herbal remedies. Since her youth, herbal intervention and nutrition have always been the primary mode of medicine she utilizes over pharmaceudical intervention, including over the counter medicines.

Alethea acknowledges that there is a time and a place for such medication intervention and finds such technology wondrous when truly needed and prescibed appropriately. She has built her practice to integrate eastern practices to support and supplement western modalities.

At the age of 14 Alethea dicovered yoga and has progressed thru classes and training for various yogic modalities including Hatha; Iyengar, Anusara, Ashtanga, and Kundalini practices. Alethea does not retain a license for yoga therapy, although does weave in some movement suggestions base on both her Yoga and Qi-Gong backgrounds.

Alethea’s understanding of food as medicine began as a young girl in the kitchen’s and garden’s of her Mother and Grandmother’s. Since then she has taken numerous courses on foods and how they affect the body. Alethea does not adhere to a mechanical prescription of food as medicine but more of an emotional and connective approach. It is her goal to bring the individual closer to relationship with the foods chosen and how they are sourced.

The foundation of her food practice began in learning how to harvest and then cook directly from the garden. Knowing this is impractical by today’s standards of living, especially in urban dwelling, Alethea strives to bring options to the table that promote greater wellbeing and directly influence the reason for your seeking assistance.
